Mark brings over 40 years of business management experience to Roots of Mercy. Coupled with more than a decade of experience with child development centers in East Africa. The Lord has given Mark the specific assignment of working with the least of these in East Africa.
WASSWA GERRALD - Executive director (UGANDA)
Wasswa holds a Bachelor's degree in Procurement and Logistics Management from Kyambogo University. Being born into poverty and orphaned as an infant, Wasswa brings first hand knowledge of the struggles of growing up in impoverished communities and having been through the same challenging circumstances. Wasswa wants to connect with, encourage and give to others the opportunity he was given by his American sponsors.
judy taylor - founding board member (usa)
With nearly two decades of mission work on the continent of Africa in multltiple countries, Judy has experience in organizing and leading missions trips, creating and implementing overseas programs, communications liaison between the US and Africaan Countries, and assisting with medical missions. God has given Judy a heart for the vulnerable children of African. With the love of Jesus Christ in her heart, she desires for God to continue to use her in a mighty way to impact the lives of African children for many years

With a degree and job background in social work, Elaine brings over 20 years of experience working in education, in both private christian and local public school settings. With her love for helping others, love for children and love for Jesus, she is now living out a life long dream in mission field.

Seeking first and foremost to be a follower of Christ, Jenny brings to ROMI extensive experience working in both ministry and in Corporate Learning and development. Whether working in the ministry directly or indirectly, Jenny's real passion is for sharing Christ's Love with the children.
Kevin mckeown - Board member (USA)
Kevin brings 30+ years of professional experience and 25+ years of serving his local church and other Christian organisations. Because of his love for Jesus and what He did on the cross, Kevin hopes to use his experiences to impact the lives of children and their communities in East Africa both the present and fiuture through Roots Of Mercy.
Shakira Namanda - child development specialist (Uganda)
Shakira has a heart of loving, sharing the love of Jesus to others and also impacting it to the people around her. She also has a precious heart for kids. One of her dreams is to work with the children of the world, ready to cooperate and share the love to the kids and adults in the world by God's Grace.
john Mutayi - accountant and spiritual leader (Uganda)
John is a Born Again Christian passionate about working for the kingdom of heaven. He considers working with the little children, helping them achieve their life time goals, teaching them the love of Jesus Christ, John holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Studies majored in Accounts from Kyambogo University. He believes his love for God, children and the people entirely is the work of God that gave him light and where everything seemed dark during his childhood. Growing to serve and serving to Grow was part of him from the start.
JORDAN RIVERA - AGRICULTURAL consultant (USA)
Jordan brings a broad and sweeping range of skills, developed over a decade's worth of work in the Food Safety Industry. The core foundation of his work for a number of those years was working with farmers and seed companies of varying sizes, on post-harvest retension and sustainability. His focus for achieving those metrics were storage practices, techniques, and interventions, which he is ecxicted to bring with him to the families in Africa. He continues to want to empower the children of Africa, knowing that food is much more than food, it's medicine, and with empowerment, knowledge, and the love of Christ, the children of Africa can be lifted out of poverty and become the world changers they are meant to be. With the love and support of his wife (Jasmyn) and his 3 boys(Copper, Hudson, and Shepherd), he continually strives to be a branch on the true vine of Christ, under the loving and knowing care of the Father, the Master Gardener.
